As I am writing all this
stuff out I am just now beginning to realize how flippin' smart I
am........wow!
Enough of that. Over the
years I have done large amount of theft damage and collision repairs
to the interiors of cars and trucks. From dash and plastic interior
panels to vinyl, leather and velour seats. I used to do carpet
repairs. All this stuff can be done but you have to know what you are
doing. I've seen too many repairs turn out worse than the original
damage (not mine but other peoples repairs). In many cases the ambiguous phrase “less is more” is all too true. I no longer do
these types of repairs. I found I was getting spread too thin and I
wanted to focus on signs and graphics. I would suggest that you call
a professional repair specialist. Many of these guys have been doing
this type of work for 20 years or more. Color mixing alone is a real
skill and that is only one phase of the repair. If you are in the
Salem Oregon, Chicago or Aspen Colorado area drop me a line and I
will give you the name of a qualified specialist who can help you
out. I you are outside of those areas check your yellow pages or call
a local body shop.. The reason I say this is body shops are more
likely to come across that type of repair and know of a sub-contrator
that can do these types of repairs.
